What I offer

EVALUATIONS

Evaluations typically include a combination of standardized testing, clinical observations, and parent interview. When appropriate, reviews of other evaluation reports and interviews with teachers and other professionals can help provide a more thorough assessment. Once completed, a report is generated which includes a description of the child’s skills and areas of need, recommended goals, a treatment plan, and referrals if needed.

TREATMENT

A treatment plan typically includes 1-3 sessions per week of direct one-on-one treatment. Services may also include consultations with teachers and other professionals, as well as periodic co-treatment sessions with other therapists. Parent education is an integral part of the process and may be done through direct involvement during therapy sessions, observation, conversations following sessions, and/or written notes.

My Philosophy

  • Everyone wants to communicate the best they can
  • Everyone can improve their communication skills
  • Everyone deserves the opportunity for optimal learning
  • Everyone benefits when parents, teachers, and therapists work as a team

"After trying for almost a year with several speech therapists we were so lucky to find Joe for our five year old son.  Joe made a strong connection with our son immediately and within weeks had made more progress with him than all the previous year combined. Our son made enormous progress with his speech which improved his confidence and overall happiness.  We are so grateful for everything he did for our son!"

Parent

"Joe is incredibly patient, totally unflappable and is great at keeping things fun, knowing how to get the most out of my son even when he is being difficult. Joe has also been great about advising our ABA provider about ways to improve his speech programs. Joe has been an invaluable part of our team and I highly recommend him without hesitation."

Parent

"Joe is everything one would hope for in a speech pathologist.  He not only works with the detailed challenges of children with articulation disorders, he is a communication master, and engages children at all levels, with games, songs, and interesting and varied activities. My patients and families have nothing but positive things to say about Joe. He is incredible!"
